These downloadable activities help teach kids how to control their conversations and be excited about listening to, and learning from, others. Worksheets, games, discussion topics and group activities reinforce the message from the storybook, Freddie the Fly: Motormouth.
Four Downloadable PDF Activities:
- Activity 1 - Motormouth Speedway - Students will help Freddie race around the track by answering questions after listening to a fun fact about Freddie and his friends. This game is for two people.
- Activity 2 - Listening Detective and Discovery - Students will identify what Freddie learned about his friends when he started listening and then interview their own friend to discover new information.
- Activity 3 - Should I or Shouldn't I? - Students will practice using Freddie’s green light/red light listening strategy by identifying whether a situation calls for a green light (keep talking) or a red light (pause and count to three).
- Activity 4 - Freddie the Fly Buzzer - Students will listen to Freddie and his friends share stories and “buzz in” when other students talk for too long.
Freddie the Fly: Motormouth is recommended for these activities.
