• O.S.S. Maze: Students will practice patience while helping solve a maze to the “No Bully Zone”. Maze worksheet included.
• O.S.S. Bookmarks: Students will create and decorate visual reminders to handle bullies like a B.O.S.S. Bookmark sheet included.
• “How much do YOU know about Bullying” Quiz: Students will increase their knowledge about issues related to bullying. Discussion will help students gain an understanding of bullies and awareness of why bullying happens. Quiz and answer key included.
• The ABCs of Empathy: Students will learn how to reach out to others who need support and will practice defining and understanding empathy.
• Don’t Peck on Me: Students will work on an art project to create a visual reminder to not pick on others. Worksheet included.
• The Boemont Bully Patrol Skit: Students will role-play to gain an understanding of the important roles that bystanders play in stopping bullying. Scripts included.
• O.S.S. Bingo Game: Students will practice reading comprehension, sportsmanship, and competitive skills by participating in this B.O.S.S. Bingo Game. Bingo Cards and Questions included.

These downloadable activities include explanation of objective, list of materials needed, instructions, and any templates/worksheets needed to facilitate the activity. It is recommended that you read The Power of Bystanders to facilitate discussion while using these downloadable activities.

Kip Jones, a.k.a. ‘Mr. J,’ is a guidance counselor at Alcoa Elementary School in Alcoa, Tennessee, where he resides with his family. Mr. J. uses what he calls “bibliorhymology” in his Willie Bohanon books, an Urban Character Education series that also includes a rap song, dance, and worksheets. The Urban Character Education series has been awarded by Mom's Choice Awards for excellence in family-friendly media, products, and services.
