Children are not born knowing how to accept no for an answer, nor do they come into the world knowing how to disagree appropriately. It's important for parents and the grown ups in their lives to understand that - just as these skills can be hard for adults - they are very hard for children.
This downloadable learning guide is designed for Counselors, Youth-Care Professionals, Educators and Parents to work with young children one-on-one or in small groups to help reinforce the social skills of "Accepting 'No' for an Answer" and "Disagreeing Appropriately." The discussion questions and activities allow children in grades Pre-K through 5th to put themselves in RJ's shoes after reading the storybook, I Just Don't Like the Sound of NO!
The Learning Guide is divided into three sections:
Before diving into the sections, read the picture book I Just Don't Like the Sound of NO! with your child and/or children.
